Trail To Misty Mountain
A good friend lived in Alaska for 30 years and had gather numerous images I had the pleasure reviewing. This one caught my eye because of the three layers of clarity - background in mist, mid-ground haze and foreground clear. This is oil on a 14x18 inch canvas and comes framed. Shipping is available as an extra cost
While visiting friends in California I couldn't resist a visit to Yosemite National Park. It was early spring so the visitor population was few and snow drifts remain scattered about. Oil on a 22x28 inch canvas captures the blue sky and aspen reflected in a placid pond.
This 18x24 inch oil on canvas painting catches the sun's light on white flowers and leaves. The trail leads the viewer into the painting but the tree limbs on the right keep the viewer's eyes within the painting. The piece is enhanced by a walnut stained frame.
For several springs a group would travel from Colorado to the area around Page Utah to hike the canyons. The trip required us to pass through Monument Valley which is a sample of God's wonders. The piece is on a 18x24 canvas and in a walnut stained frame.
Sunsets in the mountains are unique because of the majestic foreground they display. In this piece the storm clouds move in catching the color of the setting sun. The piece is on a 18x24 inch canvas and a light gray stained frame.
Beer Glorious Beer
This isn't a landscape but in a category by itself but found its way here. The piece was painted from a photo taken by my cousin. When I saw it I love the composition and color. I received permission and painted it without realizing how difficult the foam and bubbles would become. Painted on a 24x36 inch canvas housed in a light gray frame. The price of shipping will be added.
While visiting Monaco I took a side trip to a little mountain town high on a mountain top. Walking through the town I stepped into a courtyard and saw two doors that would make a good painting on a 18x24 inch canvas in lightly tan stained frame.
The sunny autumn days of October slowly give way to the gray overcast skies of November. Snow can come early in winter and as the jet streams slip more southerly the bitter cold winds from our Canadian neighbors bellow white crystals about. This oil on 24x36 inch canvas captures an old building standing its ground as snow is blown into drifts.
Pond At Sunrise
The theme for the majority of my work is conveying a feeling of serenity. Growing up in a rural setting I was drawn to the light and feeling of morning and evening. The soft colors, long shadows and a sense of tranquility. This piece captures those feelings. This painting is oil on a 24x30 inch canvas and is framed.
Mountain Tops Above the Clouds
Beautiful sunset above low clouds below snow covered peaks in silhouette painted on a 18x24 inch oil on canvas. Is offered unframed and the cost of shipping will be charged.
Patch of Sunlight
One lane road cut through the hillside winding its way through the forest canopy finds a clearing bathed in sunlight. The muted background of greens, yellows and orange-browns set the stage for the viewer to focus on the beauty the sun paints on the grasses and leaves it embraces. This work is oil on 38"x24" hardboard and comes framed.
I find it is more difficult to paint in shades of black than using color. Blending is more important since distinction cannot be made using a different color. I like this composition because the road draws the viewer's eye into the painting as does the trees and fence. The painting is oil on 32x28 inch hardboard.
